1. Ambient Temperature
Ideal range: 20–25°C; equipment can withstand 10–40°C.
Effects: Excessively high temperatures can cause PP to decompose (becoming brittle, developing black spots), and reduce motor cooling efficiency; excessively low temperatures result in poor plasticization and a rough pipe surface.
Recommendation: Install air conditioning or fans; adjust the extrusion temperature accordingly for every 5°C change in ambient temperature.
2. Ambient Humidity
Ideal range: 40%–60% RH.
Effects: Excessively high humidity → raw materials absorb moisture, resulting in bubbles and silver streaks in the finished products; equipment is prone to rust and electrical leakage. Excessively low humidity → static electricity attracts dust, which may damage electrical circuits.
Recommendations: Install a dehumidifier or humidifier; treat raw materials with a dryer before use (bake at 80–120°C for 2–4 hours).
3. Ventilation and Exhaust Gas Treatment
Requirements: Organic exhaust gases (non-methane total hydrocarbons) generated during the extrusion process must be collected via a fume hood → undergo two-stage activated carbon adsorption → and discharged through a stack of at least 15 meters in height to meet emission standards.
Standards: Comply with GB 31572-2015 "Emission Standards for Pollutants from the Synthetic Resin Industry."
Recommendation: Maintain good ventilation in the workshop and replace the activated carbon regularly.
4. Cleanliness Control
Impact: Dust and impurities in the air can adhere to the surface of high-temperature pipes, causing surface defects such as pitting and particles.
Recommendation: For high-standard production lines, establish a dedicated cleanroom area; operators should wear cleanroom suits and masks, and install air filtration systems.
5. Noise and Vibration
Noise Sources: Extruders, haul-off units, cutters, shredders, etc.
Standards: Noise levels at the plant boundary must not exceed 65 dB during the day and 55 dB at night (GB 12348-2008).
Impact: Excessive vibration can reduce equipment precision and damage precision components.
Recommendations: Install vibration-damping pads and soundproof enclosures on equipment; regularly inspect rotating components such as bearings.
6. Fire Safety
Risks: Both PP raw materials and finished products are combustible; fine dust in the workshop poses an explosion risk; high-temperature components of the extruder are potential ignition sources.
Requirements: Store materials in designated areas away from ignition sources; equip the facility with fire extinguishers and fire hydrants; keep fire exits clear; regularly clean up dust.
7. Power Supply Stability
Requirements: Typically requires three-phase 380V ±10% with proper grounding.
Impact: Voltage fluctuations can cause extrusion instability, temperature control malfunctions, and even damage to precision components such as inverters and PLCs.
Recommendations: Avoid sharing circuits with high-power, high-inrush-current equipment; install a voltage stabilizer or filter if necessary.
8. Floor and Space Layout
Floor: The floor must be level, solid, and capable of supporting the equipment's weight to ensure level installation.
Space: Reserve a 1–2-meter-wide aisle around the equipment for operation and maintenance, and clearly demarcate the raw material, finished product, and scrap areas.
Recommendation: Promptly collect and shred scrap (defective pipes, cut ends) for reuse to maintain a clean workshop.
